UCSD recruits Dr.McVeigh
According to San Diego Union Tribune by Gary Robbins, Dr.McVeigh was hired with a $4 million recruitment package that includes lab space in the huge translational medicine research institute UC San Diego is building in La Jolla. Robbins describe Dr.McVeigh as a scientist who became famous for helping doctors to spot, treat and prevent heart disease by creating exquisitely precise medical images has become the fourth academic star this year to join the UC San Diego faculty.
Dr. McVeigh moved to La Jolla from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he was chair of the nation’s highest-ranked bioengineering department. UC San Diego is ranked second.
